Dear Mommy in our children's school parking lot,
I know I'm blocking your car, but I promise it'll only take 30 seconds. There are no empty spots and my daughter is only a Kindergartener. I usually walk her to the front door, but I'll send her from the car just this once. I do have to make sure she makes it into the school building, but I promise altogether it'll be no more than 30 seconds. She's in the school building and I'm leaving now. I'm sorry for wasting 30 seconds of your time. You must have somewhere important to go. You don't have to curse at me though and wave your finger. Boy, are you so upset!
I'd just like to let you know that...there are so many other things in this world that should legitimately make you upset. Things that you couldn't possibly fathom happening to you. How about losing a child? If me blocking your car for 30 seconds makes you this upset, how upset would you be if you were pregnant for 38 weeks and 5 days and all of a sudden your baby is gone? All the hopes, dreams, expectations you had for when the baby would be born....gone. Just like that. In a blink of an eye, you're completely crushed. You have trouble physically breathing at times because the nightmare of losing a child has become your life. How upset would that make you?
I'm not asking for your pity. Although at times I do wish rude people would know just what I've been going through these past 3 months. Maybe then they wouldn't be so rude, so coldhearted because who in their right mind wouldn't feel bad? But again I'm not asking for your pity. I'm just asking you to be patient. Being blocked in for 30 seconds isn't the end of the world. It's not worth your blood pressure rising and possibly ruining your mood for the rest of the day.
Sincerely,
Another mommy in our children's school parking lot (who will never block a car again...even if it's only for 30 seconds)
